Our service in its entirety supports children’s connections between home and early learning.
We know that families are first and foremost the greatest importance in a child’s life and we pride ourselves
on developing quality relationships with families and the community to best support each unique child.
Our facilities ensure children feel a sense of home whilst at our service giving them the best opportunity
to build confidence as well as support their individual sense of belonging to their early learning service.
Our guiding principles are equally of value in supporting children’s engagement with:
Nature - Connecting with nature and the physical environment
Nurture - Nurturing each child’s uniqueness
Learning - Growing each child’s love for learning
Relationships - Valuing the relationships which contribute to each child’s life
Risk - Developing children's risk competence
Our Explorers room provides a calm, nurturing and responsive environment for just six children each day, aged from birth to 24 months. With three qualified and experienced educators, our exceptional ratio of one educator to every three children exceeds the National Quality Framework requirements, allowing us to provide highly individualised care, meaningful relationships and intentional teaching throughout every moment of the day.
The first two years of life represent one of the most significant periods of brain development. Research consistently demonstrates that warm, responsive relationships and rich learning experiences during infancy establish the foundations for lifelong learning, wellbeing and success. Our educators intentionally support children to develop the foundational skills that underpin future academic, social and emotional development.
Every interaction is viewed as a learning opportunity. Through carefully planned experiences and responsive everyday routines, children are encouraged to develop curiosity, confidence, persistence, creativity, problem-solving, early critical thinking, independence, resilience and self-regulation. Rather than focusing solely on developmental milestones, we nurture the dispositions for learning that research shows are essential for children to become capable, motivated and lifelong learners.
Language development is intentionally woven throughout every experience in our Explorers room. Our educators engage in rich, responsive conversations, narrate experiences, introduce new vocabulary, sing songs, read stories, model communication and thoughtfully extend children's emerging language. Research demonstrates that the quantity and quality of responsive interactions during the first years of life have a profound influence on children's communication, literacy development and cognitive growth. By following each child's interests and responding sensitively to their attempts to communicate, we help build strong foundations for language, confidence and relationships.
Our curriculum embraces the understanding that babies learn through exploration, movement, play and secure relationships. Children are provided with opportunities to investigate natural materials, sensory experiences, music, movement, cause-and-effect play and open-ended resources that encourage exploration and discovery. Educators carefully scaffold learning by recognising each child's cues, interests and developmental readiness, creating experiences that challenge and delight while maintaining a strong sense of emotional security.
Inspired by our connection with nature, the Explorers room has been thoughtfully designed to feel like a home away from home. Soft, calming tones, natural materials, inviting play spaces and age-appropriate resources create an environment where children feel safe, secure and confident to explore. Our indoor and outdoor learning environments encourage sensory exploration, connection with the natural world and opportunities for uninterrupted play, recognising the important role nature plays in supporting children's wellbeing, curiosity and overall development.
Above all, we believe that every baby deserves to be known deeply as an individual. By fostering secure relationships with children and their families, providing responsive care and intentionally supporting each child's unique journey, we create a foundation that enables children not only to thrive during their earliest years but to develop the confidence, curiosity and love of learning that will support them throughout life.
